Debenhams Diversity Campaign

Debenhams new summer 2013 campaign features a diverse range of ‘real’ people, including plus sized models, a 69-year-old and an amputee.

“I loved seeing the way that clothes emboldened each woman and man and being on a shoot where no two models were the same,” said Caryn Franklin, who worked on the project with Debenhams.

“I never underestimate the power of great clothes to bolster self-esteem, or the impact of imagery that celebrates difference.”

“Our customers are not the same shape or size so our latest look book celebrates this diversity,” said Ed Watson, director of PR at Debenhams.

“Hopefully these shots will be a step, albeit a small one, towards more people feeling more comfortable about their bodies.”

Roberto Cavalli Spring 2012

Spring is defiantly in the air! How do we know we hear you asking… well, we can have started riding our bikes to work again (fuck doing that in the cold winter days…) and designers are hitting us hard with florals, brights and skimpy dresses!

Roberto Cavalli’s spring 2012 collection is everything you would expect from the King of Bling; there’s gold, lace, leather and animal prints. The campaign features Naomi Campbell, Karen Elson, Kristen McMenamy and Daphne Groeneveld and was photgraphed by Steven Meisel.

The nice thing about this campaign is the understated make up (by Guido Palau and Pat McGrath), and the “wind-swept” hair that becomes a feature throughout.

I’m defiantly loving the multi-coloured print trousers and jacket (as seen on Naomi)… Although the market is saturated with colourful animal and tropical prints at the moment, there is no denying that RC is the OG of this style…

Burgers & Nails

I know I shouldn’t say this, what with being a nail technician and all, but some times I really do get bored of looking a photos of nails. It’s not the nails themselves that bore me, but the set up; always a close-up of a pretty hand holding a bottle of nail polish, or an embellished phone case. So imagine my utter delight when I came across Burgers and Nails. It does exactly what it says on the tin, shows pictures of beautiful manicured hands with fantastic nail art holding delicious looking burgers. I’m not sure what gets me off more, the talons or the food, but either way it is like porn that I can look at at work! To top it off, you can submit your own images, which means only one thing; girls, lets get our nails did and eat our weight in burgers! Hallelujah!!!!
